Fireplace Remodel with Rustic Distressed Mantel

This project transformed a dated fireplace into a rustic, inviting focal point tailored to the client’s vision. To address the overly white German schmear finish, we hand-painted each individual brick, restoring its natural tone while adding depth and character. A subtle whitewash was then applied to soften the look and create a balanced, timeless aesthetic.

The hearth was updated with earthy stone, bringing warmth and texture that perfectly complemented the custom dark-stained, distressed wood mantel. Designed to reflect a rustic, weathered style, the mantel became the defining feature, tying together natural elements with thoughtful craftsmanship. This remodel blends functionality and artistry, delivering a cozy and sophisticated centerpiece for the client’s home.
